Terra dei Motori or Motorvalley means an industrial district located in Emilia-Romagna specialized in the automotive sector. The companies of the district, mainly concentrated in the metropolitan area of Modena, Bologna, Cento and Ravenna, carry out research, technology, craft and industrial production of automotive products, sports motorcycles and agricultural equipment. In addition to the industrial activity, the district is characterized by the presence of specialized museums and dedicated services such as racetracks and circuits for sports competitions, which contribute to make this area famous worldwide as an authentic "land of motors", considered today as an element of the cultural heritage of the region. In 2014, the Land of Motors district counted 9,643 companies with 93,888 employees, with an export volume of 10.8 billion euros per year.
