Terra dei Motori or Motorvalley refers to an industrial district located in Emilia-Romagna specializing in the automotive sector. The companies in the district, concentrated mainly in the metropolitan areas of Modena, Bologna, Cento, and Ravenna, carry out research, technology, artisanal and industrial production of automotive products, sports motorcycles, and agricultural equipment. In addition to industrial activity, the district is characterized by the presence of specialized museums and dedicated services such as racetracks and circuits for sports competitions, which contribute to making this area world-famous as an authentic "land of motors," now considered part of the region's cultural heritage. In 2014, the Terra dei Motori district had 9,643 companies with 93,888 employees, with an export volume of €10.8 billion per year.
